GETTEES’ Favorite Red Head
Our products are designed and manufactured by the people, for the people and that doesn't end with knowing where your clothes come from and the people who make them. We’re bringing luxury quality clothing to the everyday American and that means real people and real stories. To this day, all of our models have been our friends rather than professionals and we want you to get to know them.
Our next friend and model we’re introducing you to as part of our #MeetTheModel blog series is Alex! Alex modeled for us for the first time in our spring 2019 campaign and continues to be a member of the GETTEES family. One of the most caring people we know - a former figure skater, soon-to-be nurse, animal lover and model in her spare time - read to find out how this Wonderwoman does it all.
Who do you know at GETTEES and how did you meet?
In college, I figure skated at the University of Michigan with Emily, the Creative Director of the brand. We’ve been friends ever since.
What do you do full time?
I’m currently studying for my Boards exam full time to become a nurse! When I’m not studying I’m working part-time at a local Animal Clinic in Ann Arbor MI.
In 10 years, where do you hope to be?
In 10 years, I'm not sure. I like to go with the flow, although I really love Michigan. But at this point, I am down for whatever my next adventure is and wherever it takes me.
Do you spend time in Detroit? If so, what are some of your favorite things to do and places to go?
A concert, a Tigers game or a Red Wings game is usually what brings me to Detroit from Ann Arbor. But If I come to the D there’s a good chance I’m coming to see Emily or other friends.
What made you want to model for GETTEES?
I got involved with GETTEES because of Emily! She’s always talked about how much she loves the company so it was a no-brainer when she asked me to model for her on Saturday. I like their clothing a lot and it was an opportunity to be part of something different and new for me!
What is your favorite GETTEES piece so far?
If I had to choose a favorite piece it would probably be the District Hoodie. It’s so soft and comfortable. When I was wearing it for the shoot, I didn't want to take it off. Plus, the double pocket is amazing and doesn’t sag when you put things in there. I look forward to buying all four colors and living in them during the winter.
If you could hop on a plane today, where would you go?
If I could go on a plane today it would be back to Venice, Italy. I was there around 2011 and fell in love with the city. Its small alleyways, colorful buildings, and the Italian culture just made it so hard to leave. Plus, the food was amazing.
What would you do with a million dollars right now?
If I had a million dollars right now, I would probably spend half on myself, family and friends on some little things that everyone needs. Invest some, and then also donate some to medical research of some kind.
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
Something not many people may know about me is that I am a figure skater turned hockey player. I truly fell in love with the ice when I was three years old and though my school life took over for a couple of years, it’s just nice to get out onto the ice in a different way now. I play in some recreational hockey leagues and after competing as a figure skater for years, it’s a nice change of pace and still keeps me on the ice.
