The Number One Fan
Our products are designed and manufactured by the people, for the people and that doesn't end with knowing where your clothes come from and the people who make them. We’re bringing luxury quality clothing to the everyday American and that means real people and real stories. To this day, all of our models have been our friends rather than professionals and we want you to get to know them.
Courtney is our next friend and model we’re introducing you to as part of our #MeetTheModel blog series! As one of our biggest supporters, she sometimes even gets mistaken for part of the team.
What do you do full time?
I'm a project manager for a general contractor.
In 10 years, where do you hope to be?
In 10 years, I hope to have a family and kids (and probably another dog or two, tbh).
Do you spend time in Detroit? If so, what are some of your favorite things to do and places to go?
Yes! I had been spending so much time in Detroit that I recently (finally) decided to move here! I love going to Red Wings and Tigers game, Detroit sports fans are like none other. I love a good cocktail or a craft beer and trying out new places for happy hour with my friends!
How did you get involved with GETTEES and what made you want to model for GETTEES?
I met Emily through the GETTEES x SIAS collaboration (Josias Yglesias of SIAS is my cousin) and we became friends pretty quickly (we’re even moving in together!). After being at some shoots, events and helping out behind the scenes, she asked if I wanted to be in front of the camera instead. I was hesitant but I'm so happy I said yes. It’s out of my comfort zone but has been such a fun experience! I love supporting local businesses like GETTEES and it's a no brainer because the GETTEES team has such amazing people on it!
Do you have a favorite GETTEES piece so far? If so, why is it your favorite?
So I have two (is this cheating).. haha. The District Hoodie for the winter and the cool summer nights and of course the Heavyweight Crew or Box for everyday wear. I looooove paring both with leggings, sneakers and a jean jacket and usually I throw a hat on too!!
If you could hop on a plane today, where would you go?
Greece and Italy! Hands down. Those two have always been on my bucket list since I was little!
What would you do with a million dollars right now?
I think I would buy a house with a huge yard for my dog, Brady, pay off my student loans and my parent’s house and invest the rest!
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
Oh, I’m not sure! I guess that I help manage two different local Detroit musicians and bands, SIAS and Trav Marquee, or that I was a competitive swimmer all through high school.
