THE MINI BUT MIGHTY COOL GIRL

Our products are designed and manufactured by the people, for the people and that doesn't end with knowing where your clothes come from and the people who make them. We’re bringing luxury quality clothing to the everyday American and that means real people and real stories. To this day, all of our models have been our friends rather than professionals and we want you to get to know them.

Next up on our #MeetTheModel blog series, we want you to get to know Mina, a small but mighty future advertising maven and one of the nicest chics we’ve ever met, not to mention one of our first ever female models at GETTEES. We asked Mina a few questions. Read on to get to know her!

WHO DO YOU KNOW AT GETTEES AND HOW DID YOU MEET?

I know Ryann (a GETTEES creative & design intern) from High School and mutual friends!

WHAT DO YOU DO FULL TIME?

I am currently a full-time student at Michigan State University where I’m studying creative advertising with a concentration in copywriting.

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO MODEL FOR GETTEES?

GETTEES represents the Detroit pride that all of us in Metro Detroit love and feel. The T-shirts have a simple style that allows me to wear them for all different occasions from work, on a date, or to go out with a couple of buddies.

IN 10 YEARS, WHERE DO YOU HOPE TO BE?

I hope to be working at an advertising firm, hopefully in Detroit or somewhere nearby.

DO YOU SPEND TIME IN DETROIT? IF SO, WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE THINGS TO DO AND PLACES TO GO?

I worked in Detroit all summer, so I spent a lot of time in the city. I love going to the Detroit Institute of Arts Museum, Campus Martius and going to Midtown for dinner. My go-to restaurant in Midtown is Selden Standard; their food and atmosphere just can't be beat.

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO MODEL FOR GETTEES?

I love businesses that are based in the U.S. and in particular Detroit, MI. If there was any way I was able to support the brand, I was all over the opportunity.

DO YOU HAVE ANY STYLE ICONS?

Some of my style icons include Hailey Baldwin and Sofia Richie based on their “cool girl” look.

DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE.

I typically go for a more natural, casual, eclectic look that mainly consists of my favorite pair of jeans and sneakers and either a graphic tee paired with a denim jacket or a blouse to switch it up.

WHAT ARE 3 STAPLE, CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT, PIECES IN YOUR CLOSET?

Basically anything black, but jeans and sneakers for sure, and a classic cotton t-shirt (like the GETTEES Heavyweight Box!!)

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE GETTEES PIECE SO FAR?

The Heavyweight Box - it hits at the perfect place right at your belly button and is an easy, everyday piece! My favorite colors of the Heavyweight Box are by far Lincoln and Pennwood.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE TV SHOW?

Silly, I know, but definitely Spongebob Squarepants (it’s been an all-time fave since I was a kid!!)

FAVORITE WORKOUT?

Running or anything cardio related.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR FREE TIME?

I enjoy collaging and creating mood boards, hanging out with family and friends and being outside if the Michigan weather permits it!

IF YOU COULD HOP ON A PLANE TODAY, WHERE WOULD YOU GO?

I would go to Iceland to see the hot springs and other beautiful sights.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH A MILLION DOLLARS RIGHT NOW?

I would add to my wardrobe collection, pay my parents back for some of my schooling and donate to a mental health charity. I would donate to a mental health charity because I believe it's a very important topic of conversation solely on the fact that nearly everyone is affected by mental health in one way or another. I hope one day that mental health issues will be better understood so that more people can receive the help that they need.

WHAT’S SOMETHING PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO LEARN ABOUT YOU?

I have a bit of a country side, meaning I help my parents raise chickens and garden on our 12 acres of land in Northville.
